Portuguese dream-pop trio Vaarwell (comprising of Margarida Falcão, Ricardo Nagy and Luis Monteiro) have made quite a name for themselves over the last year or so, with tracks like You and I Never Leave, I Never Go gaining exposure from DJs like Huw Stephens and Lauren Lavern here in the UK. Following up 2017’s Homebound 456 album the band are back with a new single, Stay and it’s a cracker.

It’s a subtle duel between the gently chiming guitar that pervades the song and the lead vocal, as it amiably crosses swords with the angelic tones of Margarida Falcão. With a voice that captures the angst of Dolores O’Riordan and the breathy tones of Nina Persson, she wins this good-natured battle as breathy backing vocals and bright synths give Stay a fresh and airy sound.

Stay is officially released next month, be sure to check their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram  accounts for more details.
