Greek electro-pop duo Marsheaux have dropped a new video for their track Like a Movie. The song features on their current and fifth album AthLon which was released on Undo Records. As the name suggests the album was recorded in Athens and London and has a classy 80’s influenced international sound to it, featuring minimal synths overlaid with sensual female vocals.
Marsheaux derive their name from the first syllables of the members’ names: Marianthi (Melitsi) (now based in London) and Sophie (Sarigiannidou) who remains in Athens. Originally from Thessaloniki, they moved to Athens and formed the group to pursue a career in electronic pop music. Brought up on the sound of synthesisers, they existed on a healthy diet of Depeche Mode, Human League, OMD, Soft Cell, New Order and Sparks, eventually releasing a cover version of the Mode’s A Broken Frame album in its entirety in 2015.
Marsheaux make a rare UK appearance on Sunday the 4th of December at the Electric Dreams Weekender in Bognor Regis. Get along if you can make it.
