Heather Jayne is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Berkshire in England, with an angelic and ethereally powerful voice that was described as by Will.I.Am, of the Black Eyed Peas, as “natural, pure and warm”. It’s a voice that will be familiar to some as she was a semi-finalist on BBC’s ‘The Voice UK’ in 2016, working with Boy George and Paloma Faith along the way. You can hear the nineteen year old’s own musical vision on her debut single The Power.

The track is a pure electro barnstormer of a ballad, making full use of the rich tones and expansive, powerful range of her voice which invites comparisons with the likes of Banks, or Holly Dodson of Parallels. Ally that with a softly smouldering arrangement, with its musical nods to the likes of Florence Welch and Tove Lo in its quiet strength, but despite those comparisons The Power is very much its own perfect pop confection.

The Power is out now and can be streamed on Soundcloud (link above) as well as Spotify and Heather Jayne will be releasing two more singles over the coming months. Following on from this, Heather plans to release an EP in the summer of this year. Be sure to keep an eye on her website and social media for more information.
