Swedish duo Covered in Snow (Mikael Engström and Tom Hedlund) describe their music as ‘indietronica’ but it’s a term that doesn’t capture even a fraction of the majesty that their sound invokes, as you can hear on new single Everything Ends.

There’s references to the sweeping and anthemic indie sounds of the 90s as chords and guitars power they way right to your heart. The vocals have a sweet plaintive quality that puts you in mind of Jónsi from Sigur Rós, but with a worldly, if not world-weary air. Throw in some Kite and God Is an Astronaut for good measure and what you get is a song that takes inspiration from the uplifting, the melancholy and reflective moods we all have, but here all three are blended effortlessly to create a sound that is sad, stirring but very, very sublime.

Everything Ends is out now and can be streamed on Spotify and purchased on all major digital outlets including GooglePlay and iTunes.
