CÉCI (Cecilie Dahlin) is a 25 year old Danish, London-based sound designer, producer and singer who marries the experimental with the accessible, creating haunting and occasionally unsettling songs that will not fail to captivate. She has a new track out called If which has a minimal but enchanting video. Check it out below.

The track, which features on her debut EP/audio-visual project opens with a glitchy and ominous air, a sound that lurks under the surface of a song that evolves into something beautiful and otherworldly. That is in large part to the vocals but there’s a surprisingly effective use of loops and beats to give the track a very human ambience. It’s like a hymn in the way uses sound and texture to reinforce the emotional content of the lyrics.

CÉCI spoke about the track and the EP: “If 4/4 is about forgiveness – it’s the soundtrack for a ‘transformation’ – moving from one state of mind to another – from trapped to freedom! It’s also the final piece of my first EP 4/4. All songs on 4/4 was me finding myself in this state of mind of not being able to breathe in this situation I found myself in when I produced them. This track is kinda like a ‘final forgiveness’ that also marks release.”

If is out now and can be found on as part of the 4/4 EP on iTunes and Spotify, the video cycle is now on her official YouTube channel. .
